Slayer of Monsters: Realm of Mountains and Seas (Season 1)

Li Xuan, a modern college student, dozes off mid-final exam. When he wakes, he has transmigrated to the Great Li Dynasty, a world overrun by demons, inhabiting the body of a scholar sharing his name. Worse still, the first sight that greets him is sheer carnage: seven wolf demons are massacring Paradise Village. Every villager, young and old, is slain. Tian Hu, a member of the Ren Battalion of the Demon Slayer Division, dies fighting to save him. On the brink of death, the **Demon Slayer System** activates in Li Xuan’s mind. Slaying a monster lets him absorb all its cultivation, and copy its innate talents and spirit arts. Once a powerless scholar, he claims his first kill against a dying wolf demon. After absorbing its power, he evolves overnight from an ordinary mortal into a Bone Refining Realm warrior. He fights on and slays all seven wolf demons. He erects tombstones and buries Tian Hu and the fallen villagers, then sets off with Tian Hu’s demon-slaying blade and token. Along his journey, Li Xuan meets Feng Qingluan, captain of the Tie Battalion of the Demon Slayer Division, and her nine-member squad. Feng Qingluan takes him for a helpless scholar and urges him to flee the demon-plagued lands. But when the Rat Demon lays waste to Blue Sea Village and Feng Qingluan is gravely wounded battling the Sky-Burrowing Rat, a peak mid-stage Tempered Demon Realm fiend, Li Xuan steps forward. Using the bloodline suppression of *Heavenly Wolf Howls at the Moon*, paired with copied spirit arts such as *Flash Step* and *Wolf Smoke*, he cuts down the Sky-Burrowing Rat, the White-Haired Evil Rat and other powerful foes. His strength astounds everyone, and Feng Qingluan formally invites him to join the Demon Slayer Division.
